Market entry in Germany: Freshfields advises Odevo on its acquisition of Erste Hausverwaltung
Global law firm Freshfields has advised Odevo AB, one of the leading property management companies in the USA and Europe, on its first acquisition in Germany, the purchase of Erste Hausverwaltung GmbH. Odevo is the new majority owner of the start-up, that is driving innovation in the property management sector through software development.
Odevo, based in Stockholm, was founded in 2019 and currently manages more than 1.5m residential units in the USA, UK, Sweden, and Finland. Cologne-based Erste Hausverwaltung was founded in 2021 and relies on digital channels and management software in its day-to-day work. With over 120 employees, Erste Hausverwaltung manages more than 20.000 units throughout Germany.
The Freshfields team was led by Partner Julia Haas (Real Estate/M&A, Frankfurt) and also included:
