Freshfields advises on Grünenthal’s refinancing transaction
Global law firm Freshfields has advised Grünenthal Pharma GmbH & Co. KG on its €600m amend and extend financing transaction. The financing is provided by an international banking syndicate and the transaction provides for an upsize and extension of Grünenthal’s existing revolving credit facility. In addition, Freshfields has advised the initial purchasers on Grünenthal’s offering of €500m 4.625% senior secured notes due 2031.

The amend and extend financing transaction was led by Partners Michael Josenhans and Frank Laudenklos, Counsel Alexander Pospisil, Principal Associate Lucas Lengersdorf, and Associates Alexander Bräuer (Frankfurt) and Pauline Höller (Berlin, all Finance). The high yield bond offering was led by Partner Simone Bono, Senior Associate Shruti Dusaj, and Associates Enzo Paganetti and Chen Yan (all Leveraged Finance, London). German law advice was provided by Partner Christoph Gleske and Principal Associate Andreas Thümmler (both Finance, Frankfurt).
