Restructuring and insolvency 

• Representing the parent company of Thames Water and certain of its creditors in relation to Thames Water’s contested restructuring.
• Advising numerous financial sponsors, debtors and lenders on various in-court and out-of-court restructurings, including schemes of arrangement and restructuring plans.
• Acting for the former directors of an industrials company on its entry into insolvency.
• Representing the administrators of the Zinc Hotels group, including in litigation challenging their conduct.
• Advising several liquidators and regulators in Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and other Caribbean jurisdictions on a range of issues relating to insolvencies and potential insolvencies of various financial services companies.

Insurance 

• Acting for a leading insurer in co-ordinating the management of global insurance coverage issues arising from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, including under aviation, political risk, political violence, marine and credit policies.
• Acting for a global insurance company on allegations relating to its sale of insurance policies, including on a redress scheme and a related regulatory investigation.
• Advising an insurer on a dispute arising from the sale of legacy insurance portfolios.
• Advising various corporates and financial sponsors on a range of insurance issues, including under directors’ and officers’, employers’ liability, life insurance policies, tax insurance and warranty and indemnity policies.    

Financial services  

• Advising a leading investment bank on the successful defence of claims brought by its former client in Italy.
• Representing a global financial services provider in its defence of litigation in the English High Court relating to allegations of fraud and breach of confidence.  
• Representing several financial services firms on post-M&A disputes.
