Profil Alexander Mitchell
Alex is a banking partner based in London and is global co-head of our leveraged finance business.
Alex specialises in event driven and other loan transactions, including acquisition and infrastructure financings, IPO facilities and restructurings. He has a particular focus acting for global private equity houses on leveraged buy-outs and refinancings, where his clients include CVC, H&F and Permira. He advises infrastructure investment funds including iCON Infrastructure and Macquarie as well as a number of listed corporates including ABB, Synsam and Dr Martens.
Mandate
- Advising CVC on numerous leveraged acquisition financing and refinancing transactions, including for ekaterra, the global tea business acquired from Unilever; Stark Group the Northern European building materials distributor; TMF, the global provider of compliance and administrative services; Douglas, the European specialist beauty retailer; LaLiga; Medivet, the UK veterinary care provider; and twoday, Visma’s digital consulting business.
- Advising Hellman & Friedman on the leveraged financing for its acquisition of Autoscout24, the leading European digital car marketplace; and of TeamSystem, the Italian software business.
- Advising Permira on numerous leveraged financing transactions, including for P&I, the German software solutions business; Althea, the healthcare technology services business; and Evelyn Partners (previously Tilney Group), the UK wealth management business.
- Advising on numerous public to private financing transactions, including CVC on the take-privates of Ahlsell (Nasdaq Stockholm) and of Stock Spirits (LSE), and a FountainVest and ANTA Sports led consortium on the take-private of Amer Sports (Nasdaq Helsinki).
- Advising on various IPO facilities, including for Synsam, Jimmy Choo and Dr Martens.
- Advising various infrastructure funds on the financing of their investments, including iCON Infrastructure and Macquarie.
- Advising the ABB group for 20 years on its loan and treasury activities, including its $2bn syndicated revolving credit facility and its $4bn syndicated bridge facility supporting its acquisition of Thomas & Betts Corporation.
