Profil Andrew Bulovsky
Andrew is an Associate in our Dispute Resolution practice based in Washington, D.C., where he focuses on cross-border compliance, internal investigations, and regulatory enforcement issues. Andrew also helps clients navigate economic sanctions, export controls, and anti-corruption laws in cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, and other international commercial activities.
Prior to joining Freshfields, Andrew studied in the United Kingdom as a Marshall Scholar, worked for two British Members of Parliament, served as an Extern in the Office of the Legal Adviser at the US State Department, and contributed to development projects in Kyiv, Ukraine and Cartagena, Colombia. Andrew has also authored several publications on anti-corruption law, international arbitration, and international economic development, and previously played Division I ice hockey for the University of London and the University of Oxford.
Mandate
- Undertaking an extended secondment with a Fortune 100 client in the aviation industry, handling sanctions, export and import controls, and anti-bribery compliance.
- Advising companies on their exposure to sanctions and export controls targeting Russia in connection with their exit, wind-down, continued operation, and/or scenario planning.
- Conducting internal investigations for clients concerning potential violations of sanctions and export controls, and counseling clients on the implementation of corrective actions.
- Assisting global clients in submitting disclosures, license applications, and other requests to the US Departments of Treasury (OFAC), Commerce (BIS), and State (DDTC).
- Advising multinational private equity and investment firms on compliance with sanctions, export controls, anti-bribery, and anti-money laundering laws in connection with mergers, acquisitions, investments, and other international commercial activities.
